Once you've already enabled/set up 2FA for your PowerTrade app, there is currently no option to disable your 2FA directly via the PowerTrade app.
While PowerTrade strongly encourages the use of 2FA protection on our users' accounts, we understand that it may be necessary sometimes to temporarily remove/reset 2FA from your account — if your mobile phone is lost or broken, for example.
Resetting 2FA
Using backup key
If you have a backup of the 16-digit code that was generated when you enabled 2FA in your PowerTrade app for the first time, you can manually add the key to the Authenticator app of your device to set up your 2FA token.
Otherwise, contact Support
If you haven't stored the backup key and need further assistance to reset your 2FA, please submit a request to PowerTrade Support. Please be advised that depending on your account's verification status, we'll require some information before we can proceed with your 2FA reset request.
Verified accounts
If you have undergone account verification in the app and your account has been Verified, please provide us with:
- Your full legal name
- Your account email address
- High-resolution photos of both sides (if applicable) of your proof of identity (ID)
Unverified accounts
If you haven't done account verification in the app and your account is still in an Unverified state, please provide us with:
- Your full legal name
- Your account email address
- A photograph of yourself(selfie) holding your Proof of identity (ID) and a slip of paper with the word "PowerTrade" and the current date.
- High-resolution photos of both sides (if applicable) of your proof of identity (ID)
